@tokyoronin HD DVD … @tokyoronin HD DVD and Blu-Ray are the first consumer formats to have bit-identical audio track when compared to the original master.
Laser discs had … Laser discs had true sound from the theatres because it was a bigger surface. I think DVD and Blue ray has compressed sound because when I watch laser disc I can hear clear dialogue sometime DVD and Blue ray sound muffled even with a high end receiver but you do get a clear picture on BD or DVD. I wish they would make blue rays on bigger discs more surface area better sound
Sony got the last … Sony got the last laugh because they waited around and got to have Bluray. And idk know if it’s any better than HD DVD but it’s what going to dominate over DVD period.
No the space was … No the space was enoguh, they fill the blu rays up with lots of extras like languages and extra clips. 720p stays 720p whether on blu ray or hd-dvd.
Higher quality of … Higher quality of what? There is no difference in quaility, blu ray is just new technology wheras HD DVD was just an upgraded DVD. So much cheaper thus better for us.
Personally I think … Personally I think the HD dvd is much better than the blu ray, it was the same technology as the dvd but only more layers for more space. And it was cheap aswell.
I’m a hardcore Sony … I’m a hardcore Sony backer always have been and always will be. But the PS3 as of now is still what it was at release. A really exspensive paperweight. It’s not backwards compatible anymore, and the title selection vs. that of its 100% backwards compatible predecessor the PS2 is shameful, companies are still authoring quality PS2 games..
